1			Auspuffkrümmer am Flansch abgerissen (VVC) 60 Tkm Besser als jeder Sportauspuff (Ralf)	Exhaust manifold broken 37 k miles better than each sport exhaust ;-)
			Haarriss aM MGF von Alistair nach 5 1/2 Jahren. Ein neuer kostet 105 EUR	hair creak at Alistairs MGF after 5 years use. A new one is 70 quid
			Das Flammrohr leidet besonders bei tiefergelegten MGF. Es gibt in England welche aus Edelstahl. (Alistair) Eine preiswerte Reparatur erreicht man durch Einschweissen eines neuen Flexrohres. D = 60mm L= 200mm, z.B. FP 130-E von UNI_FIT zu ca. 50 Euro plus Schweissen in irgendeiner Werkstatt.	The exhaust downpipe at the end of its live. Stainless steel part availiable at several suppliers from the UK A cheaap solution is replacing of the flexy part only. Get a exhaust flexy weld-in section. D = 60mm L= 200mm, i.e.. FP 130-E from UNI_FIT for app. 30 quid.

3		Neue Dichtung ist grün. Die alte Dichtung ist schwarz	Ansaugkrümmerdichtung vom MPI leckt gegenüber dem Zylinderkopf Leichter Wasserverlust 50 Tkm (Dieter) EZ 05/96	Air intake manifold sealing of MPI leaks to the cylinder head slightly waterloss 32 k miles (the new part is green coloured, the old one is black.) the patchlock bolts should be changed too ?
4			Lautsprecher verrostet Vorbeugung: Einen Spalt ins Gehäuse feilen und das Wasser kann ablaufen (Dieter) EZ 05/96	Rusty door speaker Prevention: applicate a gap... and the water can leave

7			Türgriffkante zerstört Türverkleidung, auch bei Neuwagen gesichtet. Das Loch scheint für den Griff zu groß zu sein (Tom)	Inner door handle damages door panel. Also seen at new cars.
8			Zylinderkopfdichtung geplatzt (ganz viele) Hall of Shame,Zylinderkopf Statistik bei Dirkie und deutsche Site bei Tom	Head Gasket blown
8a			Found in a coolant expansion tank. This pipe is inserted in the expansion tanksconnector to prevent it from beeing bended by any warm clamp: Aluminum metal pipe, 0.8mm rolled with open seam app 32mm long, outer diameter 5mm it fell out of the upper backflow connector down to the expansion tanks bottom. BTW. it can get into the coolant system on this way through the lower suction connector which inner diameter is app 10mm down to the water T-junktion in front of the thermostat !!
9		\--F--/ = wrong Front & Heck Spur Null !!	innen abgefahrene Reifen, weil die Spureinstellung nicht zur Fahrhöhe abgestimmt ist. (ganz viele)	inner tyre wear because of wrong the toe angles
10			Plastik Heckscheibe zerbrochen. (meine, nach 3 Jahren) rechts, Notreparatur mit Packband Scheibe selber tauschen ?	plastic rear window broken Right picture, first aid with selfadhesive packing tape DIY replacing
11			Benzingestank vom Tank.im Innenraum, durch weiche Klemme auf dem Entlüftungsschlauch. Schelle nützte nichts. Purge valve auch nicht. Roter Ring war dicht. Tankstutzen auch. Im Endeffekt brauchte ich einen neuen Tank, weil davon wohl einige alte porös werden konnten. Aber erst einmal alle Dichtungen zum Innenraum untersuchen.	Fuel smell from tank, in the car, cause of weak hose clamp at the breather hose new clamp did not help At least older cars need a new tank, because it could get porous, but at first check the amout af sealings.
12		.	ölende Ventildeckeldichtung, Schrauben lose	leaking valve cover because of loose screws
13			Haubenanschlaggummi hinten, fällt ab, ankleben.	boot lid joint rubber gets lost, attach it to the fastener wth adhesive
14			- Luftschlauch an Luftfilterbox lose - Luftschlauch durch Kabelbinder eingeschnürt	- air hose not fitted to filterbox - cable tie restricts fabric airhose
15			Zwei Kühlwasser Leckagen, an der Schelle und irgendwo von oben. (Dieter) EZ 05/96 fast das Gleiche bei Tom. Austauschen den Mist.	Two coolantleaks at clamp and from anywhere above (Dieter) EZ 05/96 nearly the same at Tom. change to better clamps
17			Defekter Faltenbalg am Schaltgelenk, Torsten hat den mit einem Stück Fahrradschlauch und zwei Kabelbindern ersetzt. Kein separates Ersatzteil erhältlich !!	broken dust protection hose at the gearbox. Torsten repaired it with a piece of bike hose. No single sparepart availiable !

22			Griff des Seitenspiegels fällt ab. Hier mit einem Stück Schrumpfschlauch verstärkt	Mirror handle falls off. Drawn is a shrink tube attached to the broken cover.
23			Falsche Fahrhöhe in der Werkstatt eingestellt. 390 mm bei 17 Grad Aussentemperatur, anstatt 368mm	Ride hight wrong adjusted in a workshop. 390mm instead of 368 (17 deg C)
24			Kugelgelenk am vorderen Querlenker ausgeschlagen nach 70Tkm	Ball joint worn at the front lower wishbone after 70k km

34			... und bei meinem MGF ist es auch passiert (November 2004)	.. and it happened to my MGF also.
35	problem at NZ MGF from Hanah	picture of washer. Unit depressured.		Looks like the pin of the knuckle slipped into the hydragas piston. If it sticks then the spring in the piston can no longer hold the knuckle down to the upper arm. The whole knuckle hets pulled out and the plastic parts breaks if it gets bounced back. Happened to me also

39			gebrochene Drähte im Kabelbaum unten links an der Kofferraumklappe nerven durch Fehlalarm, und die Kofferraumleuchte fällt aus. Kabelbaumbruch besonders wenn der Kabelbaum verdreht montiert ist.	broken wires inside the boot harness. Let the alarm go off and cut out the boot light.

41			abgebrochene Winkel an der Instrumentenhaube. Böses Problem, denn das Teil kann nur wieder angeklebt und nicht ausgetauscht werden :( Reparatur bei Tony	broken fixture brqackets at the instrument cowl. Whyever. Bad luck, cause the part can't be changed. :( and about the repair of a broken instrument cowl at Tony
42			Spaltmass Kofferraum falsch eingestellt. Haube schlägt auf die Rücklichter (MGF + MGTF) ... Schlossbügel justieren	bodyworks gap. I.e at the boot lid. Leads to paintwork damages. Lock bracket to be adjusted.
43			Bowdenzug der Fronthaube hakt aus, wenn hinten der Hebel nach dem öffnen der Hebel in die falsche Richtung gedrückt wird. Ein Kabelbinder über der Öse sichert dagegen.	Bowden cable slips off from the front lock. Mount a tie wrap the prevent from this failure.
44			Loser Stecker am Hauptrelais Motor startet nicht, Anlasser dreht nicht.	Connector at the main relay came loose. Engine woun't start
45			Ist die Batterie laufend leer, ohne erkennbaren Verbraucher ? Korrodierte Batterie Masseleitung und Anschluss können dazu führen. Das Bild von Carl zeigt erneuerte Teile.	The problem of always going dead battery. Have a look t the negative joint and wire to the battery. Heavy corroded wires/joints have been found already by several Owners. 47			Wenn der Motor mit Fehlzündungen schlecht läuft oder bei Feuchte schwer oder garnicht anspringt, dann auch mal die Verteilerkappe und den Verteilerfinger untersuchen/ersetzen. BERU Link	Engine misfire or bad starting under wet ambient conditions could be cause by a damaged distributor cam and/or rotor arm. Consider checking thsi matter. BERU supplies cheaper parts here than MGR. BERU # VK303 (blue coloured) Rotor arm with BERU # EVL181 or Bremi parts Link
